Visual Studio versions since Visual Studio 2015 share the same Redistributable files. For example, any apps built by the Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, or 2022 toolsets can use the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. However, the version of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable installed on the machine must be the same or higher than the version of the Visual C++ toolset used to create your application. Windows XP Support: Microsoft ended support for Windows XP on April 8, 2014. Current versions of the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015-2022 only support Windows Vista, 7, 8.1, 10, and 11. The last version of the Visual C++ Redistributable that works on Windows XP shipped in Visual Studio 2019 version 16.7 (file versions starting with 14.27). The Redistributable is available in the my.visualstudio.com Downloads section as Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2019 (version 16.7). Use the Search box to find this version. To download the files, select the platform and language you need, and then choose the Download button.
Why do you need the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 packages? It is a DLL file (Dynamic Link Library) required by multiple programs or games that use Microsoft Visual Studio software development environment. To find the Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 packages on Windows 10, you can right-click the Start menu and select Apps and Features, and then scroll down the right sidebar to locate the Visual C++ 2015 file.
Step 3. Now, you will see 2 versions of the Visual C++ 2015 download:vc_redist.x64.exe and vc_redist.x86.exe. Tick the checkbox next to your desired version or select both, and click on Next. Here we take the vc_redist.x64.exe for example. In the pop-up File Explorer window, select a location to save the downloaded file and click on Save.
Step 4. Once Visual C++ 2015 is downloaded, double click the vc_redist.x64.exe file on your desktop. Then you will be asked to agree to the license terms. Tick the checkbox next to I agree to the license terms and conditions and click on Install.
After that, you can relaunch the affected program and check if the error gets fixed. If you already have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Runtime program installed, you can try fixing the error by performing a repair of this file.

I ran into this issue as well and the program did not appear in the Add/Remove Programs list. To get around it I downloaded the latest Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable package and ran the following from the command line:
i was having the same problem as you guys. I tried all of the solutions in this thread nothing worked then i downloaded and installed windows sp 1(different packages depending upon your OS and architecture 64 or 32) install it, restart pc, uninstall all vc++ runtimes, restart pc, install vc++ 2015 and it will work.
I'm surprised that nobody mentioned that the Visual Studio 2017 redistributable blocks the Visual Studio 2015 redistributable installation because the Visual Studio 2017 runtime is backwards compatible.
Visual C++ 2017 is a replacement for Visual C++ 2015. So, installing Visual C++ 2017 should fix any Visual C++ 2015 problems you have.If for some reason you absolutely need to have Visual C++ 2015 installed (which I doubt), you will first have to uninstall Visual C++ 2017 and leave it uninstalled as installing Visual C++ 2017 afterwards will overwrite Visual C++ 2015.
